Psalms 139
This passage came to life to me my senior year of high school. I was lost and running.
When I tell you He knew every where I went . He protected me even in my stupidity. I couldn’t run from His presence. When I was laying in a prayer room at my dad’s church one evening, not one person knew my battle with suicidal thoughts and depression. I felt such a peace in that room I could just fall asleep. During that time my parents had grounded me because of stupid choices that almost cost me my life. So I was forced to be at the church with them a lot. Now I can look back and see that in those moments God was ministering to my broken spirit. In the months to come I would finally surrender to the Lord. On my graduation invitations I placed this scripture.
Psalms 139:7-10
How profound that this passage would guide me in my times of darkness and despair.
I share this with you today to speak of the Goodness of God that has covered my life. I share this because I want to encourage you to stand in the gap for your prodigal. I want you to hold fast and remember that if you have taught your child in the ways of the Lord they will not depart from their hearts. Even though they may stray for a season it won’t be forever.
