Where is your trust? Where do you place your confidence?
Who do you rely on?
The Lord fights for us and keeps us from slipping when we put our trust and confidence in Him.
We must rely on Him to meet our daily needs. We must rely on Him to sustain us.
We have to quit trying to accomplish things in our own strength.
Sometimes we’re walking in a testing season that is meant for our growth. So many times we give up right before the testing is done. Growth is essential in our spiritual life. We can’t stay the same and comfortable if we want to grow.
I remember having growing pains as a kid. I would wake up screaming and crying because the pain was intense. I was reminded of this today that growth isn’t meant to harm us but to stretch us beyond our comfort. I had to experience the growing pains so my legs could stretch to length I was meant to have. It was for my benefit and it is the same with spiritual growth. The pain and discomfort is for our stretching and purifying.
Psalms 26:1-3 amplified
Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity;
I have [relied on and] trusted [confidently] in the Lord without wavering and I shall not slip.
Examine me, O Lord, and try me;
Test my heart and my mind.
For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked [faithfully] in Your truth.
