I am an independent and strong woman by nature. I work in a boys world and I am their boss. I demand respect and take charge because at work that is my job.
When I am dealing with my husband I am a very submissive wife which was so hard for me. God had to show me how to let my husband lead our family. Not that I always get it right. It is my husband’s job to lead our family to Jesus. He is to love me like Christ loved the church.
I think so many times we see being a submissive wife as a weak wife. When we do things the Biblical way we will see the blessings of God over our life.
Does being submissive means you don’t have a voice? Absolutely not. It means you allow your husband to lead. We must guard our spouse in prayer.
The enemy wants nothing more than to cause division in our homes. He whispers in our ears that our husband is just trying to control us. Don’t allow the enemy to stop you from being a Proverbs 31 woman.
Lord, may we joyfully submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. May we learn to love and serve one another like Jesus.
Ephesians 5:21-30
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word,
27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church—
30 for we are members of his body.
