It was a dark day.
Jesus had endured such agony.
The night before he pleaded and begged The Father to let this cup pass from Him. He prayed so desperately and earnestly that he sweat blood. Jesus knew this death would be painful yet He surrendered His will to be obedient to the Father. Jesus was beaten so that we could be healed. They mocked Him and placed a crown of thorns on His head. They didn’t just place it they pushed it in so he would feel such pain. They nailed to a cross and tormented Him. When He was thirsty they offered him vinegar and not water. He suffered for us. He died even knowing those that He walked with had betrayed Him, denied Him. He knew there would be those that would reject Him.
Every precious drop of blood that was spilled was to pay for our sins. He didn’t owe the debt but He paid the price.
This Easter don’t let anyone or anything keep you from His presence.
Let this be a year you determine that you are totally committed to walking with Him.
Let this be the year you stop playing church.
Let this be the moment you give God every part of your life.
Let this be the season that you allow every chain to be broken.
Jesus died so we could be free. Stand in that freedom today.
Let Easter mean something more to you than bunnies and eggs.
Let it be more than new clothes and dressing up.
Let it be the moment you realize you are lost and need Him.
Maybe you’re facing an uncertain situation, lay it at His feet and watch Him move.
I pray today that you remember that it may be Friday but Sunday is on the way.
John 8
34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.
