It’s Time to Wash Some Feet

Today I am at a ladies retreat and I have the honor and privilege of speaking.

The Holy Spirit impressed on me to share me morning lesson with you.

I pray that it ministers deeply to your spirit.

Luke 7

Read it.

The woman who washed the feet of Jesus. The church people didn’t understand her need to pour out her love on Jesus. Sinners just kept thinking of her past. Still others could only see the dollar amount that could be made.

People didn’t understand how deep her love was. She was so thankful for what Jesus had done for her.

She gave Him everything she had of worth.

God doesn’t want your left over worship. He wants your whole heart. Your best worship.

She washed Jesus feet as a sign of surrender. She said Lord I am yours completely. I am holding nothing back.

Foot washing is an act of humility and surrender. When we wash another’s feet we are serving them like Jesus served His disciples.

There is a spirit of respect and reverence that is felt . It is also a humbling experience that says, I’m not better than you; but I am here for you to walk along side you.

We are showing our humility and meekness we are also showing love to others. It is also being obedient to something Jesus told the disciples.

John 13:12-15

After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.”
