Day 6- Biscuits and Gravy
Jesus gave the instructions, he told them to wait. He promised that they would receive the Holy Spirit. He also told them that they were to be witnesses.
I think a lot of people who were raised in Pentecostal backgrounds thought we had to be in church to feel God’s presence. We also attributed being filled with the Holy Spirit as speaking in tongues.
There is so much more to the Holy Spirit than the gift of tongues. Don’t get me wrong I am a tongue talking, devil stomping, Holy Ghost shouting child of God, but in my adult life I have learned so much more about the Holy Spirit. Many people have not been taught about the benefits of the Gifts of the Spirit. Sometimes we scare people, and we don’t think to explain what they are witnessing or maybe even experiencing.
We are to share our faith with others, not just become caught up in emotions.
Does your life lead others to God or does it make them run away?
We need the Holy Spirit working in our life now more than ever.
People these days are looking for something real.
The Holy Spirit is our comforter.
When all hell is coming after you, rest easy knowing that your God is in control. When your heart is broken, He brings the healing anointing. He gives you strength when you can’t take another step. When the doctors say there is nothing more that can be done, He comforts us. When grief hits us in the face, He holds us. We are never walking alone in any journey we face.
John 14:27- peace was a promise from Jesus.
When was the last time you truly felt peace? That sense of knowing no matter what storm is surrounding you God has you. Do you worry about everyday life? Are you trying to work so many hours to make ends meet?
