Stop letting the chaos and clutter of life’s hurts and struggles keep Jesus from making your heart new.

Over the weekend we began the journey of pulling out our Christmas decorations. 🎄 Let me set the stage for you…
My husband started outside with the yard. All of our yard decorations are neatly stored on a shelf in the garage, and he knows exactly which tubs to grab. 👨‍🔧👍
Inside decorations, however… are in my closet — the under-the-stairs closet. 😅

This closet holds all my seasonal décor, ministry supplies, and items from past illustrations. It is packed. You have to move three tubs just to get to one. It used to be organized, but in the hustle and bustle of life, things just got piled in. 📦🙈

While I was in there working, I heard a voice call my name. “Denise, it’s time to get rid of clutter.” I knew no one was in the closet with me — I had blocked myself in waiting for my son to help move tubs — but He spoke again. 🕊️

Needless to say… I started throwing things away. I found items I use for ministry that I had recently repurchased—simply because I didn’t know I already had them. It hit my heart:
If I hadn’t let the clutter pile up, I would have known what was already mine. 💡

And you know me… I immediately saw the spiritual application. 💭✨

So many times we have clutter in our hearts — emotional clutter, spiritual clutter — and Jesus can’t get in to do the work He wants to do. ❤️‍🩹

We hold onto chaos because it feels familiar. I used to thrive under pressure and stress, thinking it was just who I was. But I’m learning that wasn’t peace — it was comfort in chaos.

Yesterday morning during prayer service, the glory of the Lord filled the room. 🙌🔥 God spoke to me and said, “Now that the clutter and chaos aren’t your comfort anymore, you can go deeper with Me.”

My encouragement to you today is this:
✨ Stop letting the chaos and clutter of life’s hurts and struggles keep Jesus from making your heart new.

Let go. Make room. He wants to do a new thing in you. ❤️

Isaiah 43:18
“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.”
