📖 A MESSAGE FROM 1986 THAT STILL SPEAKS TODAY!
This is a repost, but I feel the prompting of the Holy Spirit to share it again.
As I was reading through my daddy’s sermon notes, I came across something he wrote back in 1986 that stirred my spirit!
🔥 “IF THE DEVIL CAN’T STEAL YOUR JOY, HE CAN’T STEAL YOUR GOODS!” 🔥
WOW! What a powerful statement!
Nearly 40 years later, these words are just as relevant, if not MORE relevant, today!
I am going to use Daddy’s sermon notes as the foundation for my next series:
⚔️ SIX WAYS THE DEVIL WILL ATTACK THE HARDEST IN THE LAST DAYS TO DESTROY CHRISTIANS! ⚔️
Daddy addressed two areas that stood out to me:
🔥 1. MORALITY
We are living in a generation where moral standards are being compromised. Things that were once recognized and preached against as sin are now being accepted, excused, and even celebrated in some churches!
Church, GOD HAS NOT CHANGED! HIS WORD HAS NOT CHANGED! AND HOLINESS IS STILL HIS STANDARD!
🔥 2. THE OPEN MARKET OF PORNOGRAPHY
Daddy was warning about the public availability of pornography even back in 1986!
Can you imagine what he would say today?
What was once hidden is now accessible at the touch of a button. The enemy is targeting minds, marriages, homes, and an entire generation!

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
🚨 CHURCH, WAKE UP! 🚨
If God was stirring the hearts of preachers to warn the church about these things in 1986, how much more urgently should we be listening today?
The enemy has an agenda!
He wants to STEAL!
He wants to KILL!
He wants to DESTROY!
But JESUS came to give us LIFE, and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY! 🙌
🔥 GOD IS CALLING HIS PEOPLE BACK TO HOLINESS!
There is too much compromise in the pulpit!
Too much watering down of the Gospel!
Too much entertaining the flesh while neglecting the Spirit!
We have become so concerned about making people comfortable that we have forgotten the importance of preaching the TRUTH!
People want an inspirational message that makes them feel good for a moment, but what they desperately need is the TRUTH that will SET THEM FREE for a lifetime!
🔥 WE DON’T NEED MORE ENTERTAINMENT! WE NEED REPENTANCE!
🔥 WE DON’T NEED A WATERED-DOWN GOSPEL! WE NEED THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST!
🔥 WE DON’T NEED MORE COMPROMISE! WE NEED HOLINESS!
I believe my daddy would be heartbroken over much of what we see happening in the church today.
He carried such a burden for the broken, the hurting, and the lost. He wasn’t concerned about popularity. He wanted to see souls saved, lives changed, and people delivered by the power of God!
And that same burden is stirring in my spirit today!
📖 1 PETER 5:8
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”(KJV)
⚔️ THE DEVIL IS AFTER THIS GENERATION!
He is after our children!
He is after our marriages!
He is after our families!
He is after our churches!
He is after our schools!
He is after our nation!
But I believe God is still raising up a REMNANT who will refuse to bow to the spirit of this world!
🙌 IT IS TIME TO RISE UP, PEOPLE OF GOD!
It’s time to take a stand for righteousness!
It’s time to get prayer back into our homes!
It’s time to preach the uncompromised Word of God!
It’s time to get back to the ALTAR!
It’s time to seek HIS FACE instead of seeking the approval of the world!
WE CANNOT EXPECT TO WALK IN THE POWER OF GOD WHILE CONTINUALLY COMPROMISING WITH THE WORLD!
🔥 I don’t want a church that simply makes me feel good!
🔥 I want the presence of God that CONVICTS, TRANSFORMS, DELIVERS, and SETS THE CAPTIVES FREE!
RISE UP, O PEOPLE OF GOD!
The hour is late. The harvest is ready. Souls are hanging in the balance.
WE NEED A HOLY GHOST REVIVAL THAT BEGINS WITH REPENTANCE AND RETURNS US TO THE FEAR OF THE LORD! 🔥🙌
Daddy’s words from 1986 are still ringing loud and clear:
“IF THE DEVIL CAN’T STEAL YOUR JOY, HE CAN’T STEAL YOUR GOODS!”
Hold on to your joy! Hold on to your faith! Hold on to the TRUTH!
JESUS IS STILL THE ANSWER! ❤️
