Jesus dying for us was to redeem us. We were bought with a great price.
He lavished His love on us by dying for us.
The definition of the verb ‘lavish’ is: ‘To bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities on; spend, expend, heap, shower, pour, deluge, give generously, give unstintingly, bestow freely’Wow that describes God’s love for us so clearly. He gave His most precious gift to redeem us.
It broke His heart to watch His only son endure such agony but He loves us so much and didn’t want us to perish, so He knew Jesus had to be our sacrifice.
The saddest part of this story was that when, Jesus felt the Fathers presence leave Him there had to be such agony. A loneliness He never knew.
I know how awful I feel when I am not in His presence. There is an emptiness in your heart that nothing can fulfill.
Knowing Jesus is peace. Life without Jesus falls to pieces. You are loved in such a way that the Father gives you generously everything He has.
You are not alone. God loves you. He cares about every part of you. He longs to be with us. So today I encourage you to find some time to spend with Him. As you do those burdens you are carrying will begin to lift. That heavy weight will fall off. A refreshing will happen in your Spirit today. Just allow it to flow.
Ephesians 1:7-8
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,
