David ask the Lord if he could build a temple to place the Ark of Covenant inside. The Lord told David you are not the one who will build my temple but the one who comes after you. The Lord declared that the house of David would continue. God promised David that He would raise up one of his son’s to take David’s place when the time comes.
David was humbled at why God would choose his family . David had been obedient to the Lord. Even with all his imperfections he was quick to repent.
David is a perfect example of the people God can use. He doesn’t look for perfection; He looks for obedience. David cried before the Lord with a broken spirit. David wasn’t free from the consequences of his sin.
God was merciful to use him still.
Everyone talks about the generational curses that pass down but how about we begin to speak about generational blessings.
Let’s talk about leaving a legacy of prayer and faith. Let’s show our future generations how to get ahold of the altar and not let go. Let them see you reading the Word. We need to teach them to memorize the Word of God because it’s our weapon.
Let’s normalize praying over our kids when they’re hurt or sick. Let’s make speaking the Word over situations our go to. Too many times we speak all the negative the enemy throws at us when we can speak Jesus and a situation will change.
My prayer for my children and grandchildren is that they become mighty men and women of Faith. That the anointing of God be greater in their life than any generation before them. That every dream or vision that died before they came to fruition will come to pass through them. I want to see a spiritual legacy continue for generations.

Verse 12
He is the one who will build a house for me and I will establish his throne forever.
