John 4
The woman at the well –
I love this story so much.
Jesus didn’t just by chance go to Samaria, he made an intentional trip.
He knew she would be there and He knew if she accepted what He said a whole community would change.
That’s what Jesus does He changes the whole place when He steps on the scene.
Sometimes I think we get satisfied with our Sunday fill that we don’t drink from the well daily.
I wouldn’t survive in this world or the job I work if it wasn’t for my daily fellowship with the Lord.
Yet somedays I’m rushed and hurried and I am determined to be more intentional this year in my fellowship with the Lord.
I have read this passage some many times. Every time something new jumps out to me.
As I was reading today I was reminded of how I felt when I was coming back to the Lord. I had a scarlet letter of shame around my neck. I felt like that was all people saw when they looked at me.
Reading this passage I see the love Jesus gave, He didn’t judge with condemnation but with compassion.
Thank you Jesus for the reminder that I don’t carry around a scarlet letter of shame because I have been bought with the blood of Jesus.
I pray as you prepare for this upcoming year that your prayer and Bible study will be the most intentional part of your life because as that happens you will begin to live an intentional life.
John 4:13-14
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
