Reading John 6 and some things just jumped out at me.
Jesus just did a miracle and fed these people so they followed Him not because they believe he was the Messiah but because they wanted Him to keep feeding them in the natural. Man, this reminds of some people today, they only seek God for the blessing not because He is the great I Am.
Jesus kept telling them He was the Bread of life yet because He wouldn’t promise daily physical bread they turned on Him. Many walked away. They sound like some spoiled brats. Some fair-weather people. They had the greatest opportunity to see Jesus in the flesh performing miracles and teaching and it wasn’t enough. We have to seek the face of God not His hand. It also says that Jesus knew who would betray Him yet He picked him anyway.
Sometimes we have to love people even when they won’t love us back. That’s what being like Jesus is, loving those who betray you, who may not believe you and still caring if they make Heaven their home.
I pray for pastors and ministers in this hour.
Those who stand for the truth no matter what people say. I pray for those whose foundations are slipping because they have wavered. I am praying and believing that God begin to deal with and restore hearts of ministers that have been discouraged.
This is the hour that we as the church must stand for what is right according to the Word of God.
John 6:29
29 Jesus told them, “This is the will of God, that you believe in the one he has sent.”
