Such an urgency in my prayer time to speak reconciliation. We never know when someone’s last moment will be. More than that you don’t want to hold onto something that can fester and grow a root of bitterness in your heart.
I think about Jacob and Esau and how at the appointed time there was a reconciliation.
Joseph was reconciled to his family at the right moment. He could have been evil to them but chose to love them regardless of their treatment.
I believe these are stories that God wanted to show us that we need to make peace. We need to right our wrongs. We may need to apologize or accept an apology.
I am not saying go embrace your abusers by any means, I am saying let go of the hate and allow God to heal the hurt.
I believe some of us are running around disconnected and hurt because of church scars and offenses that go back to our youth.
This is an area God has definitely had to heal in my heart and life. There are some people I will never go to Walmart with but I don’t hate them anymore. There are some people I will never break bread with again but I don’t hate them, I pray for them.
Hebrews 12:14-15
14 Try to stay out of all quarrels, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for one who is not holy will not see the Lord. 15 Look after each other so that not one of you will fail to find God’s best blessings. Watch out that no bitterness takes root among you, for as it springs up it causes deep trouble, hurting many in their spiritual lives
