On the Twelfth Day of Christmas, Jesus Gave to Me – Patience

Todays gift is patience.

Not our patience, but the patience that God has with us.

Think about how much mercy God shows us. God loves us and He doesn’t want us to perish. He gives us chances time and time again.

God doesn’t work on our time line and that is so hard for us to wrap our minds around.

God had Noah build an ark to save people, yet people refused.

Abraham pleaded to save Sodom and Gomorrah. Not any righteous could be found, he was able to get his nephew out. The sad thing is if Lots wife hadn’t disobeyed she could have been saved.

Time and time again God spares us from the punishment we deserve because He is patient with us.

So many times we think God is delaying our promises when He is patiently waiting for us to obey and surrender.

I am thankful for how many times He has been patient with me while I get it together.

Today examine your life and see if your promise is delayed because God is working on you. Listen when He speaks and walk in obedience and don’t look back at what you give up or walk away from.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Habakkuk 2:3

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
