Stop Putting Water on the Fire

Stop putting water on the fire.

God brings the fire, we supply the wood. We offer our sacrifice of praise, we lay our wood on the altar. When we gather in the House of the Lord, it is easy to worship and enter in; because His presence is there and it’s powerful. When we leave we have a tendency to pick up what we laid down that puts water on the fire.

I think many times we don’t realize that God is always with us. You can worship God in your car and experience an outpouring of His presence.

Many times I think we get free and before we walk out the door of the church we pick up our baggage. Our baggage is comfortable and we have become attached. The fire burns and it cost us something. Every time you pick up your baggage you put water on the fire. Don’t quench the fire. Let Go and let God be so real in your life. Spend time daily in His presence that’s what breaks the chains. That’s what keeps the fire going. Especially with all that is happening all around us we need God’s presence to help us get through everyday. Exodus 24:17

17 To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.

Luke 3:16

16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
