Relentless Women of Faith
I was reading the book the God chasers and it brought out an interesting point.
The church today has gotten so used to hype that they don’t understand the true presence of God.
We can’t usher in His presence with an unclean heart.
My mind was reflecting on a youth camp we hosted back 17 or 18 years ago.
This camp was crazy and wild but on the next to last night of camp it begin to rain. I have always known when a physical rain takes place during a revival that a spiritual downpour is coming.
That night I was so aggravated and frustrated with these kids. They just weren’t listening and I was done.
As the youth band begin to worship the atmosphere shifted. The Holy Spirit begin to hit that place. I can’t even remember the sermon I spoke the only thing I remember was looking around seeing kids praying for one another. Watching kids dance and shout before the Lord. I seen tough guys weeping and sobbing . I saw a generation touched by the power of God. There are some that still are in love with Jesus and raising their kids to love Jesus.
Some have drifted but my heart was reminded that seeds were planted that they can never deny. The experienced the power of a mighty God.
I begin to pray for them that God would prick their hearts and draw them back to His presence. That He would remind them of the moment that the world stopped for them. We worshipped and prayed until 4 am that night. The months and weeks following we saw God do miracles. I know God called some that day and soon they will surrender to that call and walk in the anointing that God has placed over them.
Never stop praying or believing that God is bringing them home.
In Exodus God told Moses gather the people together and I will come down and talk to them.
The people got afraid when they heard the thunder roll and lightning flash.
They told Moses you just tell us what He says, we’re too afraid to be in His presence.
They ran from the presence of God. Instead of pursuing, what would have been the best experience of their life they ran.
So my heart was broken.
I begin to think about how many times people stop short of entering His presence.
We think Gods presence is a song that makes us clap our hands, we think the presence give us goose bumps.
The presence of God makes us fall to our face in repentance. The pressing in to the presence of God isn’t entertaining or even beautiful.
Pressing in and pursuing God is killing your flesh.
The priest in the Old Testament knew they couldn’t enter into His presence with sin in their heart.
Now we walk in church like it’s just any other building.
My heart says Lord I wanna be in your presence, my flesh says it’s gonna cost you something.
I have learned during this journey that I am walking, there is many times of separation and I had to learn to be alright with that. I am learning that the closer I draw to the father the less satisfied I am with worldly activities. There is a longing in my soul for more of Him. Run to His presence with a sincere heart.
