Today our gift is Honey in the Rock
I was thinking about this today and maybe it seems a bit odd to you but I’m a picture if you will kinda person.
Think about a rock just sitting there that begins to flow with the sweetest honey. You’re hungry and nothing you have tasted can fill you or satisfy you. But when you taste this honey you are filled to overflowing. That my friend is what the presence of Jesus does to hungry hearts.
Think about when the children of Israel needed water and Moses hit the rock and water came out and it was good and refreshing. That’s what Jesus is to us, he refreshes our soul.
God gives us the sweetest gifts. Honey in the rock represents the sweet grace and provision from God.
Remember the children of Israel that when they were in the wilderness, He provided for their daily needs. He was taking them to the place of provision in abundance but He had to get Egypt from their heart.
To me when I picture Honey flowing from the rock. I see a hard season that feels like I’m gonna collapse and die but then His Spirit comes and sends a sweet refreshing over me.
It reminds me that my God can take an impossible situation and make it happen. It reminds me no matter how big the problem is my God is greater. It gives me an expectation of what is coming.
It tells me I don’t have to worry about my needs because God will provide.
Even if He has to give my hand fulls on purpose, we will not be lack in anything nor will my seed.
The Word reminds me that the promises of God are sweeter than anything I have ever tasted.
Psalms 119:103
How sweet are your promises to my taste, more than honey to my mouth!
Psalms 81:16
But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat. I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.” A Psalm by Asaph.
Deuteronomy 6:3
Hear therefore, Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
