Following directions isn’t something we do easily.
Even in recipes we decide to do it our own way.
Recently my husband was given a prescription for an eye irritation and it just wasn’t getting any better. In fact it was a lot worse. So we made another trip to urgent care. In this trip it was determined that the instructions hadn’t been conveyed to him correctly. So the doctor charted a new plan of action.
Sometimes our walk with God is difficult because we never read the instructions. We try to do things our way. This has been a real eye opener for me. To seek God’s instructions in everything I do.
The Bible is our instruction book but if we never open the pages unless we’re in church how can we follow the instructions?
How can you know if what you’re being taught is sound doctrine from the Word of God unless you read it for yourself?
The day we live in is one we have to guard our hearts.
The enemy is seeking those are easily swayed by every doctrine they hear.
Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
