The presence of God makes us fall to our face in repentance

I was reminded of this today and I felt impressed to share once again.
I don’t know about you but when I begin to think about the Lord and all He has brought me from I just wanna linger in His presence. I can’t help but shout and praise.
He delivered me from the snare the enemy set before me. He broke my chains.
I never wanna run away from His presence again. I don’t wanna rush my way through an encounter.
Just one moment in His presence changed everything.

I was reading the book The God Chasers and it brought out an interesting point.

In Exodus God told Moses gather the people together and I will come down and talk to them.
The people got afraid when they heard the thunder roll and lightning flash.
They told Moses you just tell us what He says, we’re too afraid to be in His presence.

They ran from the presence of God. Instead of pursuing what would have been the best experience of their life, they ran.

So my heart was broken.
I begin to think about how many times people stop short of entering His presence.
We think Gods presence is a song that makes us clap our hands, we think the presence give us goose bumps.

The presence of God makes us fall to our face in repentance. The pressing in to the presence of God isn’t entertaining or even beautiful.
Pressing in and pursuing God is killing your flesh.
The priest in the Old Testament knew they couldn’t enter into His presence with sin in their heart.
Now we walk in church like it’s just any other building.
My heart says Lord I wanna be in your presence, my flesh says it’s gonna cost you something.
I have learned during this journey that I am walking, there is many times of separation and I had to learn to be alright with that. I am learning that the closer I draw to the father the less satisfied I am with worldly activities. There is a longing in my soul for more of Him. Run to His presence with a sincere heart.
