This is a repost from a few years ago but the Holy Ghost was tugging at me to share again.
Our prayer life matters.
It is the key to hearing the Voice of God.
We need that now more than ever.
We need to pray earnestly
Do we understand the importance of prayer?
Even Jesus made time to pray. When he didn’t like the task set before Him, He pleaded with the Father but He ultimately said, “not my will but yours.”
I don’t think our prayer life looks like that most of the time. We ask God for our will and we tell God how to do things. When ultimately we need to surrender our will to His plan.
We get disappointed when our prayers aren’t answered the way we expect, we need to realize they are answered the way God desires.
Too many preachers are tickling peoples ears. The Lord does give His children good gifts. The Lord does supply and provide for us. The law of sowing and reaping are the principles of the kingdom. You can’t live like the devil and walk under the blessings of the Father.
Think about this for a moment when Jesus was hanging on the cross dying for our sins, the most agonizing moment was when the Father turned away because sin separates us from God. So what makes you think you can live a life filled with sin and have God’s presence at work in your life.
I’m telling you God is calling His people to a Holy place. He is about to expose sin and call people to repentance. It is time for there to be a line drawn. God’s presence cannot and will not flow from an unclean vessel. We have took emotion and feel good and confused that with the anointing of God.
Just because someone has a good voice doesn’t make the anointed in worship. God is looking for people who will spend time in His presence. God is looking for people who put Him first above all. Where does your hunger lie? Believe it or not your life shows where you hunger .
Matthew 26:36-46
36 Then Jesus *came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and *told His disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and began to be grieved and distressed. 38 Then He *said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me.”
39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.” 40 And He *came to the disciples and *found them sleeping, and He *said to Peter, “So, you men could not keep watch with Me for one hour? 41 Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink from it, Your will be done.” 43 Again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44 And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more. 45 Then He *came to the disciples and *said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying Me is near!”
